GUG Review: Nomadland

This year’s great breakout film at the Golden Globes was Chlao Zhao’s Nomadland ! Zhao has been an ascendant, up and coming, young director for years now following her breakthrough film The Rider (2017). She’s also slated as the director of Marvel’s The Eternals which should’ve released last fall but is currently slated for November 2021!

Her newest film cleaned up at the Golden Globes and managed to do quite well for itself! It’s a quite drama about broken elderly people making self-chosen pilgrimages across the United States looking for work in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis and the Great Recession.

It’s currently available to view on Hulu as of the time of writing!
