In a video released Monday, Professor Dr. Jordan B. Peterson returned to the world stage with a video discussing his return to Canada. The Canadian psychology professor has spent most of the last year abroad in Russia and Serbia working with specialists to help his addiction and withdrawal symptoms from the prescription drug benzodiazepine.

He was prescribed the drug in 2017 to treat his anxiety and relapsed massively following his wife’s discovery of her prognosis for terminal cancer. While her cancer has thankfully appeared to go into remission, his condition grew worse and he withdraw from the public eye between the summer and fall of 2019.

The video hasn’t been the first time we’ve seen Dr. Peterson in public in the past year. He was interviewed on his daughter Mikhaila’s podcast on June 30th where he appeared sluggish and exhausted by the ordeal of the past year.

“I wanted to tell you I’m back in Toronto. I’m in much better health, though I am still severely impaired… With God’s grace and mercy, I’ll be able to start generating original material again, and pick up where I left off.”

Peterson’s return video was short but it exciting and sent his name trending on twitter for the better part of a day as his fans enjoyed hearing he was back to work.

Naturally, not everyone was happy to hear that Dr. Peterson had returned to his work.

Regardless, Dr. Peterson’s online army of fans were happy to see him return in good health in hopes that he might be able to pick up his work where he left off. The Babylon Bee naturally got the best take in as it’s want to do.

Dr. Peterson has already been underway on new projects including two new Biblical lecture series on the Book of Exodus and the Book of Proverbs. He’s also been working on a third book entitled Beyond Order: 12 More Rules for Life. News is expected for announcements of his plans and schedule sometime in the next month.
